I normally don't like first person narratives, but this trilogy came very highly recommended by my daughter - Becky - and several online friends. So I caved in and gave it a go. I'm glad I did. It a testament to the pacing of this story that I read it in only 16 days. Pressures of real life mean a book this length would normally take me 6 months! The characters are believable and well drawn, the plot engaging, and the twists and turns of their fortunes keep you on the edge of your seat. I've been deliberately vague to avoid spoilers - multiple posts online meant that a lot of the time I knew exactly what was coming, and that did colour my enjoyment to some degree. On to book two....
