The Hunger Games was the first part of The Hunger Games series and was a fabulous book to launch the series by Suzane Collins. It is written from the perspective of a 16-year-old girl, Katniss Everdeen who volunteers herself to compete in the hunger games in place of her younger sister. The Hunger Games is entertainment, a distraction from what is going on in the real world, a war between the districts in order to keep the peace. There are 12 districts and each district sends two citizens that have to fight to the death, but there can only be one winner. It is a story about love and conflict and how love conquers all. i really enjoyed this book and constantly found myself excited to read on. Its action packed and is all about exposing the capitol for who they really are. Would definitely recommend this book, it’s great and very similiar to the divergent triolgoy by veronica roth.
