Pewsey Vale U3A 1st Reading Group, August 2011 A mystery thriller involving a group of National Servicemen serving in the RAF in 1955. All had fallen foul of service discipline and, while awaiting sentence, were offered the alternative of a three-month 'educational experiment' run by an Aberdeen University professor based in a Scottish castle. Fifty years later, one of their number arranges an all-expenses paid reunion at the same castle. Even before they arrive, one of the party is dead, and another is killed in an 'accident' shortly afterwards. As vague, conflicting memories of 50 years ago are shared, and more deaths occur, the main character, Harry Barnett, and his partner-in-crime Barry find themselves suspects in a murder investigation as they gradually uncover what really happened at the castle and on the island of Haskurlay all those years ago .... a good holiday read.
