A fascinating read for anyone interested in history. Set in the time of HenryVIII’s marriage to Anne Boleyn with Thomas Cromwell, secretary to the King as a central character, this book is a gripping read Hilary Mantel’s style of writing is very distinctive and can seem challenging at first but it is worth sticking with. There are a lot of characters in the book but you will soon get used to how all the characters connect to each other as you progress through the book. This novel certainly makes you realise how harsh this era was! You can certainly understand the fascination with HenryVIII by reading this novel, he was a complex and brutal person.
