Based on a wealth of new interviews and research, this is the deepest, most rounded and most comprehensive portrait to date of the man, the mind, the politics, the affairs, the family - of a loner, a lover, a leader. Revelatory, unsettling and compulsively readable, this is the most timely and indispensable book on Boris Johnson yet from Britain's leading investigative biographer.

A very clear book about a man apparently devoid of any integrity, honour. morals or honesty, but one who the staid and god-fearing Conservatives thought would make a good leader of their party and the country. They were probably wrong! It took a lot for them to realise though. Tom Bower stops before the Owen Paterson scandal/ attempt to remove the Parliamentary Standards Committee (only 13 Conservatives MPs showed any integrity in this), Party Gate and "Pincher by name, Pincher by nature" which was the final straw. Tom Bower's book finishes in the Autumn of 2020 and gives a clear summary of the early responses good and bad to Covid-19. A very easy book to read and a fascinating insight into a very unusual person and Prime Minister
