You'll definitely want to read this if you read and enjoyed The Passenger. For a novel containing so much bleakness and such a pessimistic world view it is remarkably entertaining, thanks largely to the quick fire responses from Alicia to the doctor's questions. It's full of philosophical and mathematical speculation about the nature of reality, but you don't need to understand all of this to appreciate and be moved by the heartbreaking reality that Alicia experiences.
