What a marvellous novel. It's about Covid; it's about love, marriage and family; it's about a divided America; but above all, it's about people - people's strengths and weaknesses, hopes, fears and insecurities; everyday triumphs and tragedies. Strout has an uncanny knack of getting inside her characters' heads and revealing their true humanity. It is a book full of love and compassion. Highly recommended - as is everything else she has written. Such a wonderful writer.
