Milebush Book group Members of the group varied widely in their enjoyment of this book. One said "Like the Curate's egg, good in parts." It is easy to read with acutely observed detail that affords the reader with vivid pictures. It is both witty and humorous, Mr Smear and Mr Snapper in Harley Street come to mind, but this is combined with vivid descriptions of the dark areas of life that are ugly and unhappy. There is little joy, very bleak in places. We rated it 3/5.
