World Book Night
World Book Night on 23rd April is a initiative to celebrate, encourage and share reading. There are a selection of books you can choose to join in with the big read, events around the country and you can even tune in online to join Bobby Seagull and guests live from the British Library.
Join us for the #ReadingHour from 7-8pm on 23 April. The aim of #ReadingHour is to encourage everyone to set aside time to dedicate to reading. This could be reading alone, reading to children at bedtime or listening to an audiobook as you prepare your dinner. You could host an online event during this hour, or even hold a reading group meeting. Take a photo and share what you're doing on social media using #ReadingHour to join in the national celebration and tag us @lamlibs on Twitter or @lambeth_libraries on Instagram, we would love to know what you’re reading!
This year the 2022 Quick Reads publications feature on the list. These are short books and great stories written by bestselling authors, perfect for less confident readers or people who are short on time. Find out more about Quick Reads at worldbooknight.org/books/quick-reads
Below are some of the books being given away in care homes, youth centres and many more community settings in time for World Book Night. Borrow one from the library to join in!
